Hi, I’m Maria

A woman with long wavy red hair, wearing glasses and a black blazer, standing against a textured light-colored wall.

If you’ve found your way here, something in your life likely feels heavy, complicated, or stuck.

At Willow & Sage Therapy Collective, I serve as a therapist, co-owner, and co-clinical director alongside my business partner, Kristen. I work with women and teen girls throughout California moving through tender, high-stakes seasons of life: trauma recovery, grief, relationship rupture, identity shifts, and the quiet exhaustion that comes from carrying too much for too long.

Many of my clients are thoughtful and self-aware. They can name their patterns and understand their history, yet anxiety, depression, perfectionism, or people-pleasing still shape their days. You might shut down in conflict, overthink every decision, or keep repeating relationship dynamics you thought you had already outgrown. In our work, we focus on what has not shifted yet and build change at a pace your nervous system can tolerate.

Areas I specialize in

My clinical focus includes complex trauma and PTSD, sexual assault and sexual abuse, incest, and domestic violence, along with the attachment and abandonment wounds that often sit underneath anxiety, depression, panic, perfectionism, and self-doubt. I work with relationship and family patterns, especially around boundaries, conflict, trust, and the pressure to be the “strong one.”

I also specialize in reproductive mental health, including infertility, pregnancy loss, third-party family building, postpartum adjustment, and the emotional and relational shifts that can come with perimenopause and menopause. I have advanced training in reproductive mental health through the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). If your mental health is being shaped by your body, your medical reality, or a reproductive timeline, we’ll make space for that without minimizing it or trying to fit it into a template that does not reflect your reality.

What it’s like to work with me

My style is warm, grounded, and engaged. I will support you, and I will be honest when I see something keeping you stuck. I pay close attention to the moments where you go blank, brace, over-function, or disappear from your own needs. When that happens, we’ll slow it down and work with it together. We’ll look closely at patterns, boundaries, and the real choices available to you in the moments that matter most.

Understanding your story matters. Learning how to respond differently inside it is what creates change. That work requires honesty and enough safety to show up fully. You do not have to edit yourself here. Sometimes that means tears. Sometimes it means laughing in the middle of hard work.

Professional leadership

Alongside my clinical work, I train and supervise clinicians in the treatment of complex trauma, PTSD, and sexual assault, with a focus on careful pacing and strong clinical judgment that translates beyond the therapy hour.

Compassion matters. So does effectiveness.
